Excellent sushi. Had the lunch set. Sushi put directly on the counter - have never seen that anywhere before, is that a thing here? Big meaty pieces of fluke, toro, bonito, another white fish, on small knuckles of rice, a nice ratio that makes it all about the (very good) fish. Tobiko roe and tuna tartare sushi, a tuna and cucumber roll, tamago to finish things off. Beautiful long slices of pickled ginger, the longest I have ever seen. Miso soup with a filet of white fish (sea bream?), a small meal in itself.

The two chefs look almost alike - brothers? - are serious about their work. The counter service (hahaha) notwithstanding, the place feels well-worn, even a little grimy. But this was a very good lunch experience. I have eaten almost no sushi here through three months, mostly on the sense that it is a high-end, reservation-only, maybe slightly pretentious, Western-facing world. This proves me wrong. At 1400 yen, extremely good cost performance. Highly recommended.

Old school family run sushi restaurant no English speakers. Very good quality and value for money.
Best to go with Japanese speaking person.

I used to be a local, so I often had unagiju for lunch.
At that time, the price was 1,000 yen, and the amount of eel was small, but considering the price, it was reasonable and the taste was delicious.
There were a lot of local customers, so it didn't feel like high-class customer service, but I didn't feel uncomfortable at all, and I thought the customer service was reasonable and proper.
Overall, the prices are reasonable and I think it's a hidden local gem.
