Don’t believe the negative reviews of this place from rage review entitled tourists. The sushi is of the highest quality - some of the very best that I’ve had in Japan and I found the chef to be warm and friendly as I attempted to compliment his craft with my broken Japanese. We shared many laughs with him and his assistant over many more hours of incredible food and drink. Highly recommended.

This Michelin restaurant truly deserves its Michelin star. Every single piece of sushi was superb. The fish was so fresh and the flavours exquisite. It’s a very intimate and cozy space with only a few chairs around the chef, watching him prepare every piece to perfection, was mesmerizing and felt like an honour. It’s a back alley place and hard to find, but it was one of the most incredible experiences of our Japan trip.

Think this place gets a bad rep because the owner/chef is a bit gruff, but I found him charming once you got past the rough exterior (he did scold a group for being 20 minutes late to a reservation, but they were quite disrespectful). We did the 12 course sushi menu. It was top notch. You could taste the sea in all the fish, and nothing was off. Michelin star well deserved. Would love to come again.
