We went at 9:30 am on a Thursday and there was only a small line of 3 people. I think you’re generally safe to buy if you go before noon on a weekday. You can buy box sets from 6 up to 30 mame daifuku mochi. Mochi is very good, not too sweet with the right amount of chewiness.

The best mame daifuku I’ve ever eaten. Maybe even best mochi sweet I’ve ever eaten. The luscious, smooth sweet red bean filling is wrapped in subtly salty mochi that has such a plump toothsome-ness.
We arrived shortly after 12:15 pm on a Monday, and whilst we were munching on the daifuku, watched them disappear at 12:22 pm, when the roller gates came down on the shop.
I was actually quite charmed by the somewhat brusque service by the ladies at the shop.

Excellent daifuku. Very chewy. Not as sweet as most other daifuku I’ve had. It is handmade in the store. To the commenter that said it was cracked and dry you probably left it too long. When I went to purchase a box they told me it is best to eat it the same day. I ate two the next day and the mochi definitely started to dry out a bit but it was still good!
