The Taiyaki
Yummy!
Taiyaki is a fish shaped cake with sweet red bean inside.
From web site;
The name of Naniwaya Sohonten comes from the fact that Seijiro Kobe I was from Naniwa (present-day Osaka), and thus named the restaurant Naniwaya after his hometown. The company was founded in 1909. Since then, we have continued to make taiyaki in accordance with traditional methods. In addition to taiyaki, we also serve yakisoba, oshiruko (sweet red bean soup), shaved ice, and anmitsu (sweet bean paste). Since the store is not air-conditioned, the shaved ice in the summer time is very special. Please enjoy azuki beans cooked in one pot for eight hours a day.
Taiyakis are crispy, savory, burnt thin crusts wrapped in the flavor of azuki beans with just the right amount of sweetness. We hope you will try our freshly made taiyaki. For those who wish to take taiyaki as a souvenir, warm them in the oven as you would toast them, and they will taste even better.
