While you cannot make a reservation for one person for the one in Kyoto, you can do it here! This is great for solo traveler like me. Dishes taste good. Definitely will come back next time.

It was super hard to locate the shop - it’s on 3F but once we were in there were no regrets. The omakase dinner we had was so good! Limited seats (8 counter seats) so do make your reservation in advance. We appreciated that the chef made special effort to speak or introduce the sushi to us in english as we were the only foreign guests for that service.

    I visited on July 1, 2020.
It was a wonderful dish, with careful attention to detail being put into each dish, bringing out the splendor of the ingredients.
The food was served at the same pace, and I was able to enjoy my meal at just the right pace.

A long time ago, when I asked about Nanzenji Hyotei, I was told that there was no branch in Tokyo. I learned that the store in Politics Town has the same name but a different name.
Time has passed and you can enjoy the authentic Hyotei taste even in Tokyo. What's more, there are days when the 15th generation stands on the board. It is truly a happy era.
It would be rude to quibble about the food now. To be honest, we order good ingredients from all over Japan, regardless of the Kyoto area. The sweetfish I received was from Miyagi.
On the other hand, the classic ingredients are unwavering. It's surprisingly difficult to get really good quality Akashi sea bream in Tokyo, but the mukozuke was undeniably authentic. Those who are determined to use Rishiri konbu without hesitation should do so.
One summer day, while in Tokyo, I was able to enjoy piping hot porridge from Hyotei. What happiness! It is a pleasure only known to those in the know.

I went there for lunch. After taking a bite, I realized, ``The restaurant food I've been eating the past few days was way too salty.'' Although it has a light taste, it has a delicious and delicate taste. It was a lunch that reset my body.
