If you're looking for a fine dining experience for Katsudon then look no further. Sakuri features two kinds of Katsudon. One is using pork sirloin and one is pork cutlet. The pork cutlet is more traditional but the pork sirloin has more fat. Both are beautiful and I'd recommend trying both if you're dining with a friend and keen to share. 👌

High-quality cutlet bowl made with carefully selected ingredients!

2 minutes walk from Suitengumae Station,
Looks like it will become one of the top 100 famous pork cutlet restaurants.
Visited "Nihonbashi Kakigaracho Sakuri".
This is a sister restaurant to Katsuyoshi, a famous pork cutlet store in Ningyocho.

I arrived 5 minutes before opening on Saturday and there was no one waiting.
I was able to enter the store as soon as it opened.

Ordered the loin cutlet bowl for 2,300 yen.
Comes with shredded cabbage and sake.

It was served in about 15 minutes.

This katsudon is a kakekatsudon topped with egg.
It's like that.

Crispy fried pork cutlet with a strong flavor
The rich eggs come together with a thick sauce rather than dashi stock.
Is delicious.

The soup is not pork soup but has pork fillet fishballs.
It makes a good chopstick rest for the rich katsudon.

It was delicious till the end.

[Shop's commitment]
Pork: Procured under the same expert eye as “Katsuko”
Eggs: Yatsugatake eggs from Nakamura Farm
Oil: A blend of vegetable oils such as Taihaku sesame oil,
A refreshing feeling that doesn't weigh you down and is full-bodied.
Rice: Koshihikari from Uonuma, Niigata Prefecture

The impact of 2,300 yen for a bowl of katsudon has diminished due to the recent rise in prices, but it is definitely one of the highest prices for katsudon.
I couldn't decide whether it was worth the price, but I don't like the type of katsudon that doesn't have egg simmered on top, so I probably won't go there again.
