A tasteful, lovely gem.
Reservations via introduction only.
The dark and subdued ambience is inviting, informal, but luxurious at the same time.
The chef in torn jeans and casual attire whips up unique delicious dishes that are simple and make sense, not overwrought ridiculous gastronomic concoctions that's the trend lately.
The wine list is extensive and diverse, allowing customers to try various ones by the glass at an affordable rate.
The first round is 18:00-21:00, course only. Second is from 21:15-23:00, a la carte.
We went for the second round and it was casual, laid back, and utterly delicious.
I ate
- Ripe persimmon marinated in yuzu, topped with mounds of salty soft prosciutto
-Saury (sanma) soup with boiled peanuts. Tasted nutty, rich, flavorful. Even though I usually don't like sanma, I could eat this soup for days
-Snow crab tossed with green muscat grapes atop milky burrata cheese
-Grilled mackerel with green curry sauce
-Pasta with porcini mushrooms tossed in rich butter sauce
- a glass of champagne, orange wine, and Riesling
Service was casual but attentive.
Would definitely repeat.
