A underground teishoku eatery that ticks all the boxes! Tasty well prepared fish or meat in generous portions. Had a problem deciding which meal to choose (which is in Japanese/English with pics). In the end we had the grilled gindara and broiled unagi both which were just right in terms of its smokiness combined with tender soft flakiness. The generous rice serving is served in a warmed container. In addition, the rice can be eaten ochazuke style as a pot of brown rice dashi with condiments is served.

There is no reservation. And this is not a place to linger .

Everything was so delicious and made with so much love and care. Even the rice was perfection. I am so happy we waited in line for this restaurant because it has proved to be one of the best meals that I have had in Tokyo (and perhaps, my life)—and we have gone to so many high-end and expensive restaurants in this city, but nothing compares to comfort food that is made with such soul and subtlety.

Good choice for having experiences of Japanese rice varieties. Suggested to keep enough time for a kind of long waiting lines at the peak time, though.
