This hidden gem has gained recognition for its exceptional cuisine and has been awarded the prestigious Silver Award by The Tabelog in 2023. Specializing in yakitori, OHKUSA stands out from other dining establishments with its commitment to sourcing the finest ingredients and its meticulous cooking techniques.

The menu at OHKUSA revolves around their omakase course, priced at 9,000 yen (tax and service charge included). A yakitori restaurant located a few minutes walk from Yotsuya 3-chome.
This is a popular restaurant that is often said to be one of their favorite Yakitori restaurants.
Reservations can be made by phone a week in advance, but it is difficult to get a connection.
On this day, a regular customer took me there on a Saturday night.

The inside of the store is quite small, with counters lined up side by side.

I'll leave it up to you and add it after it's finished.
So, without alcohol, the cost is about 10,000 yen.

Since photography is not allowed, I thought I'd post what I ate.

Chicken fillet
Segimo
Kumano chicken parsley
Kumano chicken liver
Kumano chicken breast
hatsumoto
Peaches
Date chicken wings

addition
Shingen chicken hagoita
skirt steak
chicken soup risotto

is.
Maybe something is missing.

Each portion is quite large, so I think many people will be full without needing to add more.

Everything was delicious, but
The breast meat is quite impressive. It's possible to make it so juicy. The skin is crispy and delicious.

I can see why it's popular because it wasn't too expensive and it was quite delicious from start to finish.

Big fan since Torimitsu days. The best yakitori in Japan is here.

In a quiet back alley in Yotsuya 3-chome, there is the super famous yakitori restaurant "Ookusa".
This is a famous restaurant that is said to be difficult to make reservations for.
The exterior of the store is modest, but when you open the door, you'll be greeted with the aroma of yakitori and a special space.
I've been a big fan of this restaurant since the days when it was in Kabukicho, called Torimitsu.

There are only 8 counter seats in the store.
The calm lighting and warmth of the wood gently welcome visitors.
Each skewer of yakitori served here is like a work of art.

First of all, the Yamato chicken fillets caught my eye.
When you take a bite, the chewy texture and refreshing wasabi flavor spread in your mouth.
Next is the Amela tomato from Shizuoka Prefecture. This is also exquisite.
The fruity sweetness and the crunchy texture of fried onions intertwine perfectly.

And then there's Hatsumoto, the royal road to yakitori. Its plump texture and exquisite grilling are truly the pinnacle of yakitori.
Furthermore, the synergistic effect of skirt steak with garlic paste makes it so delicious that it overturns the concept of yakitori.

If I write too much about it, it will sound cheesy, so I won't go into it here, but I think Ookusa's yakitori is the best in Japan.
This is by far the best yakitori I've ever eaten.

Photography is prohibited inside the store, but perhaps this is to capture the special experience of this place in your heart.

``Ookusa'' on Yotsuya 3-chome is a famous restaurant that is worth a visit for all yakitori lovers.
We are looking forward to the day when we can enjoy the ultimate yakitori at this location again.

They cook delicious fresh chicken from various regions. The yakitori is packed with flavor and will make you say "hmm" no matter what you eat. The owner's behavior is so beautiful that I can't help but admire his professional work. There is also a good selection of wines that go well with yakitori. It can't be helped because it's divided into two parts, but I'd be happy if we could take it a little more slowly.
I don't have any photos because photography is prohibited inside the store.
