Okaru Review Summary

Delicious okonomiyaki—but we also waited 30 odd minutes to 40. It was good for what it was, with a lighter bite and plenty of fresh ingredients. Everything was prepared for us as well. The takoyaki-like egg dish was delicious and novel. Might I recommend not coming during peak hours? Aside from that—everything else was great. Do note that you can only pay in cash.

It was great experience for us. They’re very tourists welcome and has menu in multiple languages. Workers were very friendly and welcoming and attentive. They cook food at the table. It would be great fun for kids. We ordered special/seafood special/fried noodles. I wish there was more seafood in the eggs. We like the fried noodles too. It was well seasoned with nice flavor. Only complaint I have is that AC is very weak inside and we were dripping sweat throughout our meal. Please update to stronger AC, so customers can eat comfortably!

Hands down one of the best meals I had in Japan. We were 2 people and ordered a seafood okonomiyaki and another one with minced meat. The experience of having the grill at your table gives it an extra. But what got us what the amazing taste of the okonomiyaki. Perfect balance between batter, seafood and cabbage.

Cozy place with traditional okonomiyaki. They don’t accept cards - cash only. Big variety and great service. They cook in front of you - that’s an experience. I was alone and lady even without speaking English managed to advise me a proper size) she recommended to take a mini size - which was more than enough. I took mini Special and it was super delicious!

Quite good okonomiyaki in the center of nara. We didn’t have to wait long cause we were there right when it opened. We were served fast and the food was tasty so overall a very good experience . Cash only payment was requested from the restaurant. Recommended!
