Today we visited Okuyukashi in Shinbashi, a sister restaurant of the very popular izakayas Chu-no Jo and Itten Cho in Ningyocho!

Walking slowly from Shimbashi station, we came across a pathway with red lanterns that whet our appetite and desire for sake,

Looking for the entrance to the restaurant, I found a sign that looked like a restaurant. The door is at the back of the second floor, up the stairs.

A cute cat welcomes you! After greeting the cat and opening the door, we found ourselves in a somewhat secluded yet lively atmosphere.

Okuyukashi is an izakaya where you can enjoy teppan-yaki style teppanyaki with seafood from Kyushu.

The restaurant has a very cute atmosphere with the concept of offering a live teppan-yaki experience at a reasonable price, which is a bit of a high-class image.

    Pickled cucumber
Green bell pepper with miso paste
    Potato salad
    cheese and soboro tofu
    mackerel sandwich
Toro-taku (grated yam and rice cake)
    Salmon and avocado yukke
    Trimmed steak of beef tongue
Grilled Oanago (eel) with white meat
    Red Eggplant Omelette
    Potato galette
    Garlic rice
    Anko (red bean paste) roll
    Drinks
    Popcorn highball
    Orange wine glass
    Sweet Potato Shochu Yamaneko
    -------------------------------------------------

All the dishes were very delicious and full of originality that you won't find at any other restaurant.

The cute little bowls of appetizers were all sake-inspiring, such as meat miso peppers and torotaku.

The fluffy grilled white-boiled conger eel is served with salt, wasabi, or plum sauce.

The red eggplant omelette was spicy and somewhat ethnic in flavor, and the freshness of the eggplant made for a hearty meal.

The potato galette was well-seasoned and also went well with the drinks,

I ordered a popcorn highball for the first time.

It was quite a tasty highball with a sweet taste and a nice mouth feel.

We also had a bottle of Yamaneko, which is carefully produced at the Ouzuyama distillery.

I recommend you to try this sweet potato shochu made with Joy White for its elegant coolness.

After work, in Shinbashi, with that girl you like.
Okuyukashi, please come and visit us.

I like the place, but the foods are too salty, and huge gap which I’ve seen on instagram. I thought that place is hidden, and calm dark place. But it’s generally normal Izakaya. And food doesn’t balance cost and quality.

    ⭐︎A little impression⭐︎
This time, I went to a hideaway bar in Shinbashi where you can enjoy teppanyaki with a high-class image at a reasonable price. It's such a hidden gem that it's hard to find the store. I ordered the very popular Okuyukashi course. With the above included, ¥4,400 is a great deal.

    ・Appetizer bowl
Appetizer balls appear every time you open the lid. Just like a matryoshka. A fun and exciting appetizer. The top layer is yellowtail carpaccio. The middle row is potato salad, cheese minced tofu, meat with miso peppers, light pickled cucumbers, and fatty tuna. The bottom row is avocado, basil, and seasonal fish namerou. I'm happy to be able to eat so many different kinds of food.

    ・Edamame galette
The surface is crispy and the best. The rich flavor of the edamame and the amount of salt matched perfectly and it was delicious.

・White grilled large conger eel from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture
White-grilled large conger eel with crispy skin and fluffy inside, packed with flavor. It was great to be able to change the flavors to suit my tastes, such as salt, plum sauce, wasabi, and lemon, and it was extremely soft and delicious.

    ・Seafood mix tempura
Mixed tempura topped with plenty of big shrimp and squid. What is it? I really like the taste. The balance between the deliciousness of the seafood and the homemade sauce is so great that you'll be hooked when you take a bite. The shrimp are also plump and delicious.

    ・Trimmed beef tongue steak
It's cut into bite-sized pieces, so it's very easy to eat and goes well with alcohol. It's finished with a refreshing seasoning, so you can eat it in one go. It's thick and filling, and it's soft and irresistible.

    ・Garlic rice
The perfect finishing touch with the aroma of garlic. When you think of Teppanyaki, you think of garlic rice. It had an addictive taste.

    ・Anko roll and ice cream
Plenty of warm red bean paste inside the chewy dough. The slightly melting ice cream is a perfect match. The combination of warm and cold is really delicious.

The price is too high for this much. I was very satisfied with the extensive drink menu. In addition, the customer service is good, and this is a restaurant that is sure to come back again.

The location is just a short walk from Shinbashi Station, and you can find it in a narrow passageway. It might be a little confusing at first, but it feels like a hidden gem. A cute cat will welcome you in front of the entrance. The inside of the store is a comfortable space where you can feel the warmth of wood. With table seating only, it's perfect for a date or a meal with friends or colleagues.
