Japanese: Sushi

Omakase Description

Located in Tsukiji, Tokyo, Omakase is a unique sushi restaurant that offers a new form of sushi created by former sushi school instructors. With a focus on Edomae-style sushi, Omakase stands out from other dining establishments with its emphasis on the ultimate blood removal technique and the use of aged fish sourced from all over Japan.

One of the standout dishes at Omakase is the Smoked Raw Mackerel Nigiri, which is a popular choice among customers. Another must-try dish is the Abalone Liver Sauce, where the remaining liver sauce is mixed with sushi rice to create a flavorful risotto. The menu also includes a variety of courses, with the recommended Omakase course offering a selection of 12 nigiri sushi and 10 appetizers, showcasing the skills of the chefs and the quality of the ingredients.

The restaurant's interior is designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere, allowing guests to fully enjoy the sensory experience of the sushi. The attention to detail and the dedication to providing a memorable dining experience sets Omakase apart from other sushi restaurants in Tsukiji. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or looking to try something new, Omakase is the perfect place to indulge in the art of sushi-making.

This wasn't just our favorite meal in Japan - it might be one of the best meals we've ever had. The sushi was unlike anything I've had, particularly the aged cuts. Everything was fresh and precisely prepared. The omakase allowed us to try over 20 dishes, and each was explained thoroughly to us. Service was incredible as was watching the chef at work. Definitely get a seat at the bar!

We didn't have a reso but we were early and got in fine. Didn't get seated where the chefs were making the food in front of people, rather it was upstairs seated at our own table and servers, maybe the chef, came to point at pictures in a book which explained a bit about what we were eating.

Really enjoyed the smoked mackerel.

When we left there seemed to be room at the chef's table, so left curious about why we were seated upstairs.

Dined here at 4PM and had the 'yuu' omakase course consisting of 26 dishes. Reservation and payment is required in advance. They have an English menu as well as picture card for each dish which is very helpful especially when there are so many variety of fish being served. Pacing was a little faster than desired but everything tasted very fresh and delicious and the staffs and chefs were very friendly and hospitable. Price was very good considering all the quality seafood you get in the course, including sushi, sashimi, grilled and smoked fish, soup and dessert.
