Osteria Barababao Review Summary

Randomly pick a restaurant for our 1st day trip in Tokyo. It surprised all of us. Food and desserts quality are beyond our expectations. Staffs can communicate in simple English

2025/01 . 3,800 jpy for full course.
Appetizers were filling.
Pasta with gorgonzola was 👍 great
🍖 Beef with red wine also good. Tender juicy.
Affogato 👍

As an Italian food restaurant, I don’t understand why each person needs to order one drink, despite us already ordering food per person, including appetizers and desserts, and especially since there’s already a cover charge (coperto) per person. It’s not indicated in the menu as well, on the drinks requirement. So we ended up ordering 3 over priced Pelegrino bottle per person, which we can’t finish. The male Caucasian staff isn’t very friendly either, although one of the lady is friendly. I wonder if perhaps they are paid extra, only if we order an expensive wine, which we didn’t.

Food is ok to be fair. But with so many other good Italian options in Tokyo and the Ginza area, there’s no reason for me to return. Pity.

Pasta is really tasty , coffee as well
For me it’s an authentic Italian restaurant with good price , haven’t tried any wine yet since I just had a lunch set , would def come back for dinner time then tasting the wine :).

This original Italian restaurant makes you taste everything as if you were in the cities and villages of Italy. The food is amazing and the service is amazing
