Visit with same-day reservation. I was really happy that they agreed to my request even though it was at the last minute. Three of us sat at the counter. We had a slightly filling course (2,000 yen) and a variety of drinks.
It seems like sardines are the main dish, but no, all of them are delicious. The amount is small and perfect for me. This is a store that I would like to visit even by myself. However, the sardines are especially delicious. Nanbanzuke was perfect. I'm happy that they cater to all my preferences regarding alcohol. The owner's passion is evident everywhere.
The location is a little hard to find, but just knowing about this store will definitely increase your stock.

Japanese restaurant “Otabeya” on the north side of Sannomiya Station
Although it is on the 3rd floor of a multi-tenant building, there are many excellent Japanese dishes such as sardine dishes, and it is almost full today!
7-item set 2,000 yen, 10-item set 2,500 yen. The sea bream sashimi, mackerel-kissed shellfish, sardine nanban & fries are super delicious. I don't usually eat sardines, but there was no fishy smell and I could eat all the way to the bones. At the end, I ate it all over with a rice ball. 〆
You can also choose sweet potatoes, barley shochu, and sake if you tell us your preferences: Kenpachi, Manriki, Nakachu, now Akishika, Atago no Matsu, etc.
It's mainly a counter, but there are tables for 4 people, although it's small. We had quite a few drinks, but at a reasonable price of 5,000 to 6,000 yen/person, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

It's on the third floor of a very old building.
There is no elevator.

Due to the coronavirus, there is no a la carte option, only course meals.

You can order 7 items for 2,000 yen or 10 items for 2,500 yen, depending on how hungry you are that day.
It was delicious, but there were some things I couldn't finish on one plate, so I'd rather eat what I like a la carte.

I was staying in Kobe on a business trip and visited by myself for dinner. This is a restaurant that is truly like a "hidden famous restaurant" on the ground. The owner, who runs the restaurant by himself, is very personable, and the restaurant and food are neatly organized.

How many years has it been since you came? After all, it was a store with great cost performance. In this day and age where everything is going up in price, it's hard to believe the price of a traditional full-course meal! A 7-course "slightly hungry course" costs ¥2,000, and a 10-course menu costs ¥2,000.
