Pizzeria Onda Monzennakacho Review Summary

We visited this place on a holiday without a reservation, and they kindly allowed us to stay for an hour. I’m not sure if reservations allow for a longer time, but it worked out well!

The pizza was tasty—especially the Margherita. The Romana was a bit salty for our taste, but still enjoyable. Each person is required to order at least one drink, but the atmosphere made it worth it!

There are tables both inside and outside, close to the lively walking street, adding to the great vibe.

Very delicious and authentic pizza! Also, the staff were very attentive and quick. Excellent service! Don’t forget to ask for the chili oil!

This little pizza place is so charming and the staff is lovely. My friend and I were ordering only vegetarian things, and our waiter noticed and checked with us about animal products in other dishes; even finding someone kind and conscientious enough to ask feels like a blessing in this city. They also accommodated us when we asked for meat to be removed from the calzone... again, so kind.

The pizza is some of the best I've had hands down in my life, and the salad we tried was simple but flavorful. The drinks also felt very curated and fit the food selection well.

Excited to become a regular.

Service is slightly prejudiced against tourists - there is an expectation to order at least one dish and drink per person, no matter if you are hungry or not, although 2 people only occupy 1 table anyway, while local guests are not restricted. In my opinion this is potentially racist.

Alright folks, Onda-san’s pizzas has changed the pizza game in Tokyo. Forget about the good pizza names and the established brands.

Reasonable prices, delicious pizzas, quick execution… Onda-san knows what he’s doing. Classic italian pizzas, no non-sense. The calzone knocked me out of my socks, especially with a drip of his original home-made spicy oil with a mix of herbs inside the bottle… the best I had so far. It is *really* good. The margherita, as shown on the picture, is one of my favorite as well.

I highly recommend it ! ✌️
