Pontocho Sushi Yoshino Review Summary

As our first Omakase in Japan, it was truly wonderful. From getting a warm welcome into the restaurant to the spectacular food, it was a wonderful experience! The staff and chef were incredibly friendly, and though the chef didn’t speak much, he was incredibly skilled in his craft. Overall was wonderful, and we would return again

We had a great experience here. It is a bit tricky to find, as the sign is small, and the door is fairly discreet, photo in the review so you can find it!

The menu is limited, and the restaurant only seats 12 people. All of the sushi was very high quality and the service was very swift.

I'm surprised this place got such a good rating. The sushi was mediocre and very expensive! The chef's attitude rubbed me off the wrong way as he knew we were foreigners. Each piece took very long to come out even though there were only 2 other parties at the restaurant. He was favoring the other Japanese customers

The best sushi we have eaten in Japan, the chef is super friendly and the raw material is super tasty. Highly recommended the sea urchin sushi, the eel sashimi and their Japanese wine. Simply amazing!!

Sashimi & Sushi is absolutely amazing! You can see that the chef are very dedicated for the food.

Must visit this place! Make sure you order everything! Better come here when you’re hungry to experience all the food that they offered.

Pro tips: If you can’t speak Japanese, make sure you ask hotel front desk to book the reservation. This place don’t take walk in. Reservation only!
