Located between Ebisu and Daikanyama, the Pâtisserie Les années folles offers excellent French-style cakes from Chef-Pâtissier and owner Kenichi KIKUCHI, specializing in some chocolate cakes which are really extraordinary, but also “Framboise”, “Fromage Citron”, “Choux Crème”, “Millefeuilles”, and a multitude of flavors.
Chef Kenichi KIKUCHI has been trained in France with Park Hyatt Vendôme Paris Chef Jean-François FOUCHER.
According to the seasonal fruits and the Japanese calendar (Mother’s Day, Day of the Children, etc.), Les années folles offers also specially designed cakes.
You can order also birthday cakes and this seems very popular with the locals.
The cakes are prepared in the atelier in the back, and may have a glance at the busy four or five pâtissiers, including a French one, baking behind the glass window.
Price vary between 500 and 600 yens per individual cake, with larger cakes for 3 or 4 starting at 2,000 yens.
I loved the chocolate cake “Soufflé au chocolat” (2,200 yens) but I also enjoyed recently “Pistachio” and “Framboise” cakes.
This is a rare cake shop in the Ebisu-Daikanyama area that I recommend.
The Pâtisserie Les années folles seems to have a sister shop in Nakano but I have not visited it yet.

I couldn't help but drop by Les Années Folles as I walked past. The desserts looked exquisite. I grabbed 4, a Mont Blanc, Creme Caramel, Cheese Cake, and Choux Creme. I've already eaten two and my favourite so far is the Mont Blanc.? Prices were reasonable, and the place was very busy so I assume it's fairly popular.
