Ramen restaurant near Kamata station, about 6 people in line before midnight, but not too long. When you wait in line, the staff prompts you to buy a meal ticket from the ticket vending machine. When you return to the line, you are asked how hard you want your noodles, how much flavor you want, and how much oil you want. This is iekei ramen, which originated in Yokohama. The soup has no cloying taste and you can enjoy the pork bone flavor. The wide noodles also have a good texture.

I can only say not the best.... Char siew is good... Noodle is good too... But the soup is a bit too salty for my own liking....
Avoid lunch time and peak hour. The q moves fast.

For guys should not have any problems... But for lady might feel a bit stress... Because they will keep on annouce how many people are waithing outside.... 🤣🤣🤣If you don't understand Japanese then is ok... 😅😅😅

If you are around Kamata, can give it a try....

Pictured is the 特製らーめん + 岩のり/ tokusei ramen + iwanori.

(ig @wei.oframen for my ramen log 😳)

I might have gone a bit too overkill on the toppings lmao. Extra iwanori on top of the tokusei ended up covering everything you can't even see the beautiful color of the broth anymore. This bowl set a high expectation for the Iekei bowls to come as it was my first proper Iekei bowl ever. Hiiki is known to be one of the best Iekei shops in Japan but unlike other Iekei shops, their approach to the genre is toward the more elegant side. Most people just look for a heavy-hitting, impactful bowl to energize for the day, the broth at Hiiki was so delicate and refined. If you look at their recently renovated shop, they do look more like a trendy izakaya.

The best Iekei ramen I had in Tokyo.

These guys have truly refined Iekei ramen. The broth was very powerful and complex with a very savory shoyu tonkotsu taste. This was further enhanced when adding the crushed raw garlic available at the table. The deluxe bowl comes with two types of chashu, both of which were tender and flavorful. The egg in this bowl is incredible. Perfect consistency, tons of flavor.

Definitely a must stop if you are in Tokyo.

Silky smooth broth that’s a wonderful blend of creamy pork bone and chicken flavor. Seasoning is perfect. Noodles are toothsome and on the shorter side so easier to eat. All counter seating so don’t bring a crowd, but definitely worth a stop if passing through Kamata. One of the best three bowls I’ve had in Japan.
