Ramen Matsutomi Review Summary

Been in Japan for two weeks now and this place has taken the number 1 spot for the best ramen! Seriously this is a must eat spot. Cash only. There was a menu for English options that was helpful as my signal was a bit spotty in the restaurant as it’s in an alley with several tall building around. Very chill and local vibe in the middle of the upscale Ginza area. Will be returning for another meal before we leave!

Affordable and delicious. Where the locals come for their ramen fix. You grab your own beer from the fridge by the door. They count the number of bottles at your table afterwards. We went back 3 times after the Michelin ramen shop next door. Definitely a better deal and a more authentic experience. They have a limited number of clam broth ramen, so come early if that’s what you’re after. In the evening it’s more of an izakaya feel with locals coming for drinks and snacks. Cash only.

Pleasantly surprised! Thought it is small cramped typical Ramen shop but it's rather spacious. Very friendly service and and Gyoza is good!

Returned to this ramen spot for the second time in a week, hoping to try their famous clam ramen, but sadly, it was sold out. Despite the disappointment, the food we ordered was still excellent—flavorful and satisfying. The quality of the dishes keeps us coming back, and we might just try our luck for a third visit.

I discovered this awesome ramen place in Ginza that's open super late. Their shumai was insane – seriously, the best I've ever had. I had to buy a pack to go. The ramen was alright, but the shumai was the real star. They have a self-serve drink fridge, which is pretty cool. If you love shumai as much as I do, you'll be obsessed with this place.
