Ricolo Review Summary

A really nice teppanyaki place and very different from the overly showy style of teppanyaki more popular in the states that's usually more style over substance. You can still watch the chef cook, but it's really to see how he prepares everything with care while being very efficient with his motions. We got the seafood and the pork sets.

The food was so good! Although the rice portion could be larger. This is a decent restaurant with a great atmosphere, amazing service and delicious food.

I had an amazing dining experience here! The staff were friendly, eager to assist and able to communicate fluently in English. The food was served promptly and it was nice being able to see different dishes being prepared but being seated at a table (not right in front of the grill). I'd highly recommend the green salad as the dressing was phenomenal, and adding soup (miso and tomato) to a meal. I ordered the sea bream and sangria which was excellent.

Just had a disappointing experience with this restaurant this evening. We were the first in the waiting queue at 8 pm. The first waiter told us we may not have a table by the time of the last order at 830pm. Nevertheless we decided to try our luck and wait. At 830pm a second waiter came out to tell us that they were fully booked and could not accommodate us. As we were about to leave, we noticed that there were others in queue behind us and they were still waiting so we decided to hang around to see wat happened. To our surprise the waiter ushered the customers who were behind us into the restaurant. When we asked him why he was allowing other customers in, he immediately said that we could have a table although with an unwilling tone. When asked why he was allowing other customers in after the last order timing he then had to acknowledge that the last order time was 855pm. He then came up with another reason saying that they could not let us in as there was no table for four which was another untrue excuse as when we feedback they were able to offer us a table straight away. All I can conclude from this is that this restaurant is unwilling to serve foreigners or tourist and tried their best using one excuse after another to make us leave discreetly. Our only experience of non existent service in Japan so far.

Beef and chicken that we ordered were well prepared, cooked to the right medium wellness according to our taste. My only complain is that the food tend to be more salty than what we are used to. I always recommend that restaurant food should not be too salty. If we need more salty, we can always add more. Garlic bread, especially, tasted like salted breaded.
