APRIL 2023
There are several branches for this restaurant and only this location accepts reservation for one person. Inside was very small and if I remember correctly they have only 3-4 counter grills, and the chef will explain each cut of wagyu while they prepare and grill the meat for you. All you have to do is watch in anticipation and enjoy the different cuts paired with the recommended condiments and sides. All the wagyu are high grade; very tender and meaty with a good amount of marbling effect which was not too heavy on the stomach. The course started off with what seemed to be a standard yakiniku with standard slices of wagyu but later it only got more intense with a whole chateaubriand steak grilled and cut into chunks served on rice with garlic soy butter which was a flavor explosion. Then there was a tenderloin filet katsu sando which was buttery and breaks apart with no effort, balanced with the tangy sauce and mustard seeds. Also their version of sukiyaki was a thicker than standard slice of sirloin paired with sweet onions on rice with a creamy egg yolk. It was a very delicious and satisfying meal, the chefs were friendly and very hospitable which made it an enjoyable dining experience. Definitely well worth the price.

Finally, you can enjoy Yakiniku alone! They take reservation from 1 person. I enjoyed the Tokusen Yakiniku Bento box for lunch (pre-opening). The beef was so tender and cooked at its best. I look forward to making a dinner reservation for 1!

I thought the dish would be perfect because it would be cooked by a professional. Hats off to the owner for his ingenuity in creating a variety of meat courses. In a sense, I have stepped into the pinnacle of Yakiniku, and I wonder if there is more to it than this. It makes me think.
