[Japanese food Shinkuro @Gotanda]
Gotanda, where I lived for many years when I was single.
I landed in Gotanda for the first time in a while.
I lived alone in the area just across the Meguro River, and this store opened right next to me.
When you go up to the second floor of the building and open the door, you will be greeted by a stylish interior with oblong counter seats and a black-based interior.
There seemed to be not only counter seats but also private rooms in the back.
◇Shinkuro course◇
There is one type of menu.
We only offer one Omakase course whose contents change every month.
◆New salmon roe Sea urchin Monaka white shrimp from Toyama Prefecture
Wow, great from the beginning.
The white shrimp, sea urchin, and salmon roe, which are rare in Tokyo, are topped with caviar.
Wrap this in Monaka skin.
The middle part will fall apart over time, so eat it in one big bite.
◆Wagyu beef sirloin and matsutake mushroom bowl
It's a hearty and delicious bowl.
The flavor of the sirloin and the aroma of matsutake mushrooms will make you smile.
The soup stock was delicious, and I ate it in small portions.
◆Roasted dogfish from Numazu Port, Shizuoka Prefecture, sea urchin, caviar, flower ears
◆Natural sole roasted sake from Aomori Prefecture, Myoga
It was served in the same container.
The grilled blackthroat is fragrant, juicy, and moist, and the luxurious toppings of sea urchin and caviar are the best.
The sole also has a slightly sour taste from the roasted sake and a refreshing aroma from the ginger, giving it a different taste.
◆Sweet sea bream tempura, fried taro, salted seaweed, vinegared tachibana
The scales are beautifully fried.
The contrast between the crispy texture of the scales and the softness of the moist, fluffy meat is irresistible.
The fried taro that came with it was sticky and fragrant, and my companion especially raved about it.
◆Hokkaido Senpoji, raw oysters, homemade ponzu jelly / Nanban pickled horse mackerel from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture
Since I don't like oysters, I couldn't eat them, so only my companion ate them.
What was served instead was horse mackerel pickled in Nanban.
The fluffy flesh was soaked with flavor, and in my opinion, it was delicious enough to compete with raw oysters.
◆Kinmedai from Numazu Port, Shizuoka Prefecture, chrysanthemum bean paste
A fluffy golden sea bream soaked in the gentle taste of warm chrysanthemum paste.
It doesn't have a strong flavor like boiled fish, so you can directly taste the deliciousness of Kinmedai.
◆Figs with sesame vinegar/white dressing
This is a menu that my companion, who loves figs, was looking forward to.
I had only planned to have sesame vinegar, but one of my companions also liked Shiarae, so the restaurant served it for me.
The sesame vinegar has a richer sesame flavor than I expected, and goes surprisingly well with the figs.
The white dressing gently brings out the deliciousness of the figs.
Both companions seemed satisfied.
◆Rice cooked with maitake mushrooms, Japanese black beef steak, Chirimen pepper, sea bream miso, pickles, red soup stock
The main characters are the maitake mushroom rice cooked in an earthenware pot and the ichibo steak, surrounded by a group of people who are perfect to accompany the rice.
This strawberry is juicy and overflowing with the flavor of the meat, making it extremely delicious.
And the stir-fried rice is also delicious.
Even though the rice soaking up the flavor of Maitake mushrooms is delicious alone, it is the best when combined with Ichibo mushrooms.
The chirimen sansho that solidifies the sides has a gentle aroma, and the sea bream miso is a flavor I've never had before, but it was delicious.
With so many delicious side dishes, you'll quickly run out of rice.
I wanted to eat all of the leftover rice, but somehow I used my logic and decided to keep just one rice ball and take it home as a souvenir.
◆Shine Muscat from Yamanashi Prefecture
Finish with Shine Muscat.
It was the first Shine Muscat of the season.
Well, one word is wonderful.
It was a very satisfying course that served fresh seasonal ingredients in the best possible way.
We also have sake and wine, as well as pairings, so if you like to drink, you can enjoy a drink while having a course meal.
Even when I lived in Gotanda, there weren't many nice shops like this.
It's a bit pricey, but if you consider the contents, it's definitely worth it, and you can use it for dates and dinners.
If a store like this had existed back then, I might have visited it quite often.
I envy the current residents of Gotanda.
