One of the best Japanese dining experience I’ve had in a while. Will definitely visit this place again next time I come to Tokyo. I highly recommend the drink pairing.

Don't be fooled by this restaurant's location on the 3rd floor of an apartment building. I had a lunch omakase that cost around 16,800 yen, and it was absolutely worth every yen. The space is small with a minimalist yet cozy atmosphere. They employ a variety of cooking techniques that you can watch firsthand, and the use of firewood for cooking adds a unique, campfire-like feel to the experience. With multiple chefs, they explain each dish in both Japanese and English. The meal featured maitake mushrooms, duck, a type of shellfish (which I can't recall), pickled vegetables, and to my surprise, even puffer fish. Some of us were a bit nervous, but we all made it through! The wagyu beef was exceptional, and the final touch of fig ice cream was the perfect end to an incredible meal. Everything, from the food to the service and ambiance, was outstanding. I highly recommend this place!

At just 28, Chef Yu Kunisue is making moves at Shizen .Here, smoke, fermentation, and seasonality come together to create an amazing menu. Each dish highlights a depth of knowledge in smoking ingredients, the transformation of fermentation, and the insight of local seafood and seasonal produce.
With a creative twist on sustainability, Chef Yu is totally a cut above in the dining scene of Tokyo he's absolutely killing it!

The food is absolutely incredible. Best Japanese I've ever had in my life. The staff is also super friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something special in Tokyo!
