My favourite japanese restaurant in Hakuba ! Typical japanese meal, super good and warmly after a ski day.

You can be sitting on the floor or at the counter. I’ve stayed on the floor to experience the way japanese are traditionally eating in Japan.

The tea they serve you is very good, made with soba, and you can also buy to make at home.

I had a huge bowl of soba which was delicious, charcoal scallop and tofu.
Very good food !

I advice you to make a booking before going. I was alone, and lucky on that day, but it is highly recommended to book !

This restaurant serves excellent soba, both cold and hot. It was really delicious and the tempura was amazing as well. We ordered other side dishes like their tofu, garlic octopus and fried chicken. For a guy who doesn’t even bother ordering soba and let alone cold soba, thanks to this restaurant and its excellent food, I am now a true believer of it.

Absolutely worth it and both the service and atmosphere was excellent as well. Lives up to what we know as true Japanese hospitality. I would recommend that you make reservations before going to the restaurant as it can get quite busy and packed.

We had a wonderful time at Zen. Other than soba, all the other dishes were amazing. Tatami mat seating, warm and cosy environment with english speaking staff and menu. Ring bell for service. Reservations a must. if you have a big group you'll get a private room with sliding doors.

We come here yearly and reservations can be made via email. Superb sake

We were told that this was one of the best restaurants in Hakuba... and it lived up to the reputation. It was very good. We all got the tempura set. The tempura pieces were delicious dipped in the broth.
I recommend making a reservation as they are very busy.
