Sushi And Bar Spot Review Summary

My family and I had such a great time here for dinner! The chef/owner was so kind to us and very accommodating. We got to have a wonderful (and hilarious) conversation with him in English throughout our meal— you can truly tell he enjoys getting to know his customers. The food was delicious and made right in front of us, the fish was so fresh, and the presentation was stunning!!
My dad is a vegetarian and wasn’t planning on joining us for dinner, but the owner actually took the time to make a few vegetable appetizers for him, which was incredibly thoughtful.
The setting is casual and perfect for anybody that wants delicious sushi in a comfortable atmosphere.
Overall, our dinner was an extremely welcoming, joyful, and personalized experience. Will definitely be coming back!

We had an amazing omakase experience with Shinji! Truly the best sushi and most unique experience we've ever had, thanks to Shinji and his humor, warmth, and incredible knowledge. This has been the highlight of our Japan trip from a food perspective, and that's saying a lot!

Picture your chill, funny uncle that makes bomb omakase while hip jazz plays in the background. Super friendly. Chef speaks English well as he lived in the states before moving back home to Kyoto, and has been a sushi chef for almost 40 years! Definitely will be back my next trip to Kyoto 🙏🏽
