Sushi Hananoi Review Summary

Wow, what an amazing experience. We had the absolute pleasure of eating here this evening (Christmas Day). The food was amazing, 6 courses of sushi curated by the chef plus the last course which was whatever we requested ! However the BEST thing about this whole experience was the service and how LOVELY the chef, his mum, the waiter and waitress were! We left feeling so heart warmed by them - they even gave us a Christmas present ❤️ I would HIGHLY recommend eating here !!

The atmosphere and service is top quality. I’ve lived in major cities and can safely say this is best sushi I’ve ever had. It’s also a family business which made everything that much better from the care and friendliness of the staff.

I hope one day our paths cross again and we can come back!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so motivated to do so after a night of dining at Sushi Hananoi. We walked in without a reservation and were immediately seated. The sushi is by far the best I’ve ever had but the meal was definitely overshadowed by the level of service we received.

The passion that the chef put into his work was incredibly evident, and the respectful service that we received was world class.

Could not recommend a dining experience more than Sushi Hananoi.

Had an absolutely amazing dinner at Hananoi. The vibe, the quality of food, the coziness… all of it was great. The chef was personable, skilled and super hospitable. It was a varied but simple omakase that just really hit the spot. He checked in towards the end to make sure we had had enough and to see if we had any final requests.

After our meal, the main chef’s mom came out from behind the scenes in the kitchen to send us off in the most lovely way.

Would completely recommend to anyone! Will return the next time I’m in Kyoto

P.s: As a side note, the staff dealt with a medical emergency of another patron during our dinner in a very professional and caring way. They even checked in on us after the ambulance left to make sure we were OK given the commotion. A really thoughtful operation.

All of the previous was enriched by its deep family heritage. The chef, now in its third generation, skillfully carried on the legacy of his father and grandfather, crafting each sushi piece with precision and tradition. As we left, the chef's mother bid us the warmest goodbye, adding a heartfelt touch to a truly exceptional dining experience.
