If you like classic sushi you’ll understand this menu. The chef and his assistant are both hospitable and highly skilled in what they do. i’m so glad we found this gem. Clean, well executed and balanced. Definitely a first and not a last time here:)

Went there for our honeymoon lunch and had a great time! The food was delicious, you can see the ingredients are high-quality and the chef is very professional. There were many small portions of diverse fish and seafood so we were really full at the end of the meal. Also the service was great - kind and friendly but not overwhelming. I would definitely recommend it 👌🏻

Alright, this restaurant (at time of posting has 1 Michelin star) had some wonderful and delicious points and a very few drawbacks. Most of these dishes, after the shrimp and uni dish, were the best fish dishes I have ever had. So we will simplify this into pro/con:
Pro's:
-Fish of the highest quality.
-Unique flavors of rice/sushi/combinations that I have never had in a bite before.
-Wonderful showmanship behind the counter.
-The shear beauty that I experienced while eating most of these dishes is unmatched.
Con's:
-The uni and shrimp dish was one of the most painful things I've eaten. At first I thought maybe it had some natto coating or something...or our weaker western pallette. The flavor was fine but as soon as we bit the shrimp and slimy, grimy coating coated our mouth (was NOT the uni). Was the shrimp bad? Unsure ... This dish is the only reason it has a 4 star for food.
-For the price of the meal ($250 USD per person) I was hoping for a more fine dining feeling (baskets for our bags, hooks for coats, more elegant drink menus or service). Wonderful staff and chef, just compared to some others at that price point I expected more.
-Some playing or etc could have been fancier, but it was fine, I'm being picky for this one.
I know the con's seem longer, but I don't want that to push anyone away from this restaurant. All in all a great experience, and I hope they improve in the future for our next trip to Japan!

We were blown away by the quality of the sushi at Hayashi. Prepared thoughtfully and masterfully by Mr Hayashi and assisted by his wife, you will not be disappointed with the omakase. The amount of sushi is plentiful and the freshness of the fish is as if just caught from the sea. The uni/sea urchin is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Bravo.
