It's the best sushi I tried in Tokyo so far. All the dishes tasted great! I think this was due to Chef Isano personally preparing, cooking and serving the dishes himself (he does not have any apprentices). The vegetables and fruits served as well tasted superb, especially the tomato was amazing. Sushi Isano has only counter seats (8 seats total, all next to each other). The environment is very traditional, wooden style restaurant. All counter seats overlook a small garden which actually will have Sakura during cherry blossom season.

Say ‘omakase’ and add on an order of the tomatoes. I know, tomatoes at a sushi place. Trust me on this one. For the whole package of artistry, ambiance, personalized service, and most of all exquisite flavor, Isano is the one to beat.

It was a beautiful space, matched by the wonderful sushi course. They do not speak English and I wished I could have talked to the chef more as he prepared my food. It definitely was on the expensive side, but as someone who wanted a high end sushi experience it fit the bill. This will be a meal I will always remember.

Favorite sushi place in Tokyo. Traditional but fantastic blend of flavors. Quiet chef adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Very enjoyable every time I go.
