Sushi Masashi has definitely been my best Edomae Sushi experience. The quality of the ingredients match the Michelin star it got. The chef also displayed a certain level of creativity (otoro sukiyaki), so I understand why it got a star.
I have been on 6 holidays in Japan and only during this trip I visited 3 Michelin starred restaurants. In the past I have visited several Edomae Sushi places - prices for true Edomae are always between 15 and 30K JPY.
Sushi Masashi was 45K JPY. The delta is probably mostly due to the Michelin star which attracts gaijins like you and me without doing much effort. Needless to say, the 10 seats were only composed of me, 2 Chinese, 7 Americans.
No sane Japanese person would spend 45K JPY for Edomae Sushi. Especially people from Tokyo.

If you care about price/quality ratio, you might be slightly deceived, but not enormously either. The correct price without a Michelin star would be roughly 100 EUR/120 USD less.

However, I noticed a slight difference in quality between other high level Edomaezushi and Sushi Masashi.

Would I come back? No. Am I satisfied? Yes.

Service and food was stupendous as Masashi Yamaguchi gave a wonderful journey through the omakase course. The place as a bit hard to find if it is your first time coming to the place but once going into the place, you're greeted by the waiter (reservation is a must of course). Once seated owner and chef Masashi guides everyone the course and explains the dishes. I can say that I was not disappointed at all; Enjoyed every bit of it. My favorite was the otaro but every dish were amazing. The servers were very professional and on top of refills, refreshments, and/or drinks upon request. The people know good amount of English to explain and describe every dish and hold well enough conversation. I do recommend this place for omakase and hope to come back one day.

An upscale sushi bar that feels trendy and modern rather than stuffy and traditional.

Masashi Yamaguchi, the Itamae, is young, suave and genial; the cooked dishes are delicious, and the sushi is fabulously prepared even if, for my tastes, the shari is a touch too sharp.

Highly recommended.
