We just wanted something spicy and found this place - rich chicken ramen (had tiny minced chicken pieces) with delicious thick noodles was what we were expecting! We asked with broth and had 1 grilled cheese (and it was on fire) and 1 extra spicy bowls. Both came with tofu inside and flavors were incredible. One of the best ramens we had in Japan. They also offer Halal options.

Halal Japanese restaurant in Nara. Even though the place is quite hidden in narrow road and small in size, you will find many people queuing for it. Went there around 11 am and there was already costumers. It cannot be booked before. They only accept cash. The taste of the halal menu is delicious, adjusted to the taste of halal consumer.

Visited November 2023.
The food was delicious and spicy, the service was also good, I really like mapo tofu and the chicken bowl with rice. They have halal menu.
I recommend it, I wish to go eat there again.

The food was delicious!
We ordered the mapo tofu ramen - regular and spicy.
Along with the ramen we got a side of chicken teriyaki with rice.
I highly recommend to dine here and eat the mapo tofu ramen.
Additionally, the street leading to the restaurant is nice & cozy.

enter the alleyway (dont be scared !) look for a shaved ice cafe and go behind it, theres a path.

visit was on a saturday, 20apr, reached at 11:50am with a minor queue where the server gave us the halal menu (attached as of apr'24) and also made our order prior to entering. we (7 people) entered the restaurant at 12:10pm, the atmosphere was intimate and authentically japanese.

food was served at 12:20pm - 10/10, had the halal ma-po-tofu ramen set with the teriyaki chicken rice bowl, very unique dish compared to your typical ramen and was amazing. i would gatekeep this place but it's too good to not leave a review, would definitely give another visit if i were to come to Nara again :)
