Taizō Review Summary

One of the best meals I’ve ever had!!! And such a fun experience. The chef/staff were friendly and made beautiful and unique dishes with local Kyoto seafood. Some of the best quality fish I’ve ever had. Very intimate ambiance- the restaurant only seats 7 and the chef prepares all the food right in front of you. Can’t recommend this enough’

We had a great dinner at Taizo restaurant. It is very small (about 7 seats), which is actually a plus. One is sitting directly in front of the chef who is preparing the dishes for you. He is obviously a master in his profession. Every single sushi is a piece of art. They only offer a fixed menu for the whole evening like in a Michelin star restaurant. Beside that, they are very kind and fun to talk to. Thanks for the great dinner!

Had great time! Nice family owned restautant. Yummy fresh sushi. Tried some interesting things. If you are from Australia, at times feels like you are at Attica restaurant for the fraction of price.

Astonishingly clever food. A hidden gem - only seven seats at the counter. We had cods roe with cucumber, octopus with yuzu infused Kyoto potatoe, shashimi (barracuda, flounder, torro, jack-mackerel). The most varied range of nigiri. Absolutely amazing. Best dining experience of my life.

Simply the best sushi we have ever had. A traditional exquisite experience of a master sushi chef at his best. Omakase is well thought out with dishes slowly building from seafood appetizers to exotic fishes (e.g. Blowfish). We ended the meal with a series of handcrafted nigiri. Great selection of sake.
