It’s a small but amazing soba restaurant that makes the noodles in house. We luckily got in for lunch without a reservation but I would recommend that you book in advance if you want to guarantee a seat.

The interior is dark, quiet, cozy, but clean. The server is very friendly and was helpful with any questions we had. We got the mori soba with grilled duck, and seaweed soba with tempura. We also got a glass of sake each. The same was cold and served in a delicate wine glass. They were pretty tasty and paired well with the greasy tempura and rich grilled duck which were both fantastic.

Finally, the soba was very different from what I was used to. There was very little ponzu sauce and the noodles were almost dry and snapped easily. But the flavour was subtle, yet deep. I enjoyed and savoured every bite.

Finally, we got the ice cream which was also made from buckwheat and was savoury and.l not overly sweet. It was pricy but I think the service, and the quality of the food made it worth it. I highly recommend if you want to try some amazing soba!

Absolutely delicious experience in a cosy and authentic space. I had the vegan soba and tempura set and every bite was pure pleasure. Fresh ingredients and a lot of skill. This was our favorite meal in Japan and I highly recommend it.

The place is hard to find but look for a Japanese sign above stairs. The restaurant is at the bottom and is English-friendly.

after walking takeshita street, i was starving. found this gem to the side, where you walk down stairs from street level to get to. there was only one couple there at lunch time besides myself. the quality of the ingredients and the food was absolutely worth it - price might seem steep, but for this quality and volume of food, it was well worth it. quiet ambience, and you get to watch the chef move about his kitchen if you sit facing the kitchen which i found very zen.

i got the tempura shrimp with soba noodle. so delicious!! it was more than i could usually eat by i left my plates empty, belly full. thank you, chef.

Got to know through Google map search and found this soba restaurant that served good soba, grilled duck and tempura.
Everything was of the highest quality and taste.
Even my kid is savouring down the food and asking for more.

And good food comes with a slightly steeper price

Food is absolutely amazing. Best tempura I’ve had. The chef is nice and gave us enough space. Great for date night. He also has a good collection of sake if you are interested. Love the ambience too. It’s chill and gave us a great evening!
