Taketori Description

Located in Kyoto, Taketori is a unique restaurant that specializes in serving delicious dishes made with Nana-tani Jidori, a rare and high-quality breed of chicken. The restaurant is known for its affordable prices and the opportunity to savor the flavors of this exquisite chicken.

What sets Taketori apart from other dining establishments is its commitment to using only the freshest ingredients. The Nana-tani Jidori used in their dishes is sourced from their own farm in Kamigamo, where the chickens are raised in a free-range environment, allowing them to grow naturally and develop a rich and flavorful taste.

The menu at Taketori offers a variety of mouthwatering options, including sashimi, tataki, and even rare delicacies like shirako (fish milt). One of their standout dishes is the teppanyaki-style grilled Nana-tani Jidori, which is cooked to perfection and served with a generous portion of vegetables.

The restaurant itself is housed in a traditional Japanese townhouse that exudes a sense of history and charm. With both counter seats on the first floor and private rooms on the second floor, Taketori provides a cozy and intimate dining experience for its guests. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special occasion, Taketori is the perfect place to indulge in the flavors of Nana-tani Jidori and experience the true essence of Japanese cuisine.

This is a hidden gem and only a two minute walk from the JR San-In Line Hanazono Station! This restaurant has great Yakitori and very delicious freshly made barbecue meat. They have their own farm in the back as well. The hot pot is amazing, delicious chicken soups at the end, and the portions are absolutely large. They have a limited English menu, but you can generally figure it out as the menus have some photographs of their highlights.

Absolutely delicious food! A bit on the pricy side but well worth it :)

Chicken specialist. Very good in preparing it in many different ways

I ordered the Hanazono course. I was satisfied with everything from the accompaniment to the yakitori to the dashi chazuke at the end. The atmosphere of the townhouse-like shop was also great!
