Taverna Meta Review Summary

Arrived to an empty restaurant at 6.30ish on a Tuesday night. No English menu so thank God for Google translate! Only one lady working and doing all the cooking but she was super polite and friendly even when we struggled with ordering the drinks initially and when more customers arrived shortly after us.
We had spaghetti with tomato, basil, mozzarella, two different carbonaras and spaghetti with shrimp in a creamy tomato sauce. We all agreed our dishes were delicious and my dad was happy with the Italian beer!

Overall, an excellent option for lunch - fantastic aldente pasta, great salad portions, and reasonable pricing!

Credits to the chef who satisfied a fully seated restaurant at lunch time - was very impressed with the time management on display!

Not too many places where a single chef manages both service and cooking at peak hours whilst maintaining high standards of quality, but the chef here made it look easy.

Will definitely visit again for lunch!

Excellent italian cuisine. Authentic creamy carbonara, well balanced and not greasy. The Ragù is absolutely brilliant as well but the star of our evening was the tagliatelle con gamberetti e pomodorini.

A cute older sister was alone. I was the only person when I entered the store, but more and more people seemed to be regulars.

I ordered a pasta lunch of peperoncino topped with roast pork for 1200 yen.
First of all, I was surprised by the volume of the salad.
The dressing was also homemade and was very delicious.
The pasta noodles were chewy and very satisfying.

The store opens at 11:30 and we arrived around 11:20. When we entered the store, we were the only two groups.

Salad and bread come first, then pasta. The pasta is fresh and chewy, and the seasoning is delicious and very satisfying.

The amount was just right for me, but although it wasn't written on the menu, it seemed like you could get a larger portion of the pasta for an extra 200 yen.

A young woman is working as a one-person operation, and sometimes it takes a while for the food to come out, and when you want to pay, she sometimes misses the timing because she's busy plating food or dealing with other customers. I thought it would be better to visit if you have some free time.
