Long-established tea room in Jinbocho.
Takano was the first imported tea speciality store in Tokyo. The place built his reputation since 1974 over a very large selection of high quality black tea from abroad.
The scones are quite good and served hot with jam and a small amount of clotted cream. You should order an extra serving of cream (+100 yen) if you like richer British style scones.
The staff is very polite and the atmosphere is very quiet and calm so you can easily relax while enjoying your tea.
Prices are more than reasonable for such a quality.

If you feel like having a decent cup of tea with a reasonable price in Tokyo, this is the place. While many cafes and tea houses in Tokyo serve scones with strange fake cream, the Takano’s clotted cream is quite acceptable even though the amount of the cream they serve is not enough. You can double the cream with ¥100. Their scones are not excellent, but I would say they are alright.

A relaxed atmosphere and a good service. They have a fine selection of black teas and know how to brew them. The price is fair.
