This place is a little hidden jewel! The dinner we had there was one of the finest we had over the past 3 years in Japan.
Kita (the name of the restaurant) opened 1 year ago and specialises in Tenmusu. You can just drop by to take away or enjoy the full experience at one of the counter seats.
The interior is a beautiful combination of traditional Japanese style infused with modern flair providing a wonderful atmosphere.
The presentation and service are great and the English speaking chef will lead you through his seasonal specialities. The selection of Japanese sakes is wonderful as well.
Kita gets our highest recommendation.

The food here was so tasty. They sell tenmusu (tempura rice balls) and they are made fresh every day. A great lunch to take out when touring around Kyoto!
