Finally got my Hamburg steak. Yesterday they were sold out, today’s it’s raining hard so there were plenty (he showed me a tray of patties) at this basement spot on what we call “the strip” down the hill from Meguro station towards the river. Pretty tasty, guessing a good example of the genre. Cooked to order on the teppan, finished with some steaming under a lid, well done. This isn’t a hamburger, more like an individually-sized meatloaf. Pretty sure there’s some pork, onions, other stuff mixed in with ground beef. Got mine with grated daikon on top but I bet it’s good with cheese. Even though it’s well done, it’s juicy, with some flavor.

Sides were generous but a little lackluster - a steamed medley of cabbage, carrots, and onions was undersalted while the miso soup was overly. Guy’s a little gruff but I got a friendly feeling in the end (think he appreciated that I actually came back). 950 yen for the set, pretty good cost performance. If you were young and hungry 1100 yen for two patties (10 oz of beef) would be a real deal. Enjoyed the lunch but now that I’ve tried one not sure I have to seek out other examples - this is not the most important pillar of Japanese cheap eats.

I really enjoyed my radish hamburger steak. Misou soup was among the best I've ever had. I would not have know to try this restaurant but went with work colleagues and am glad I did. I'll try again next time I'm in Tokyo.

Good hamburgs hidden at B1F. All menus served with pork miso soup and rice during lunch time from Mon to Sat.

I visited for lunch on a holiday!
The inside of the store is underground and cluttered, so it doesn't have a stylish atmosphere, but it's nice to have an open kitchen with a griddle.

I received a combo hamburger steak for ¥1200!
For just ¥200 more than the ¥1000 hamburger, you can get sautéed chicken or teppanyaki beef belly!
The hamburger itself weighs 200g and feels more voluminous than usual.
It seems like 300g of hamburger steak is ¥1000 with time service!
6 types of sauce for hamburgers? You can choose from, and I ordered Japanese-style onions!

The most important thing is that the taste is stable and delicious.
Unfortunately, the beef belly teppanyaki was overcooked and a little tough.
A large bowl of rice is also free and the cost performance is great!

It's located in the competitive area for restaurants in Meguro, so I think it's going to be tough, but I want you to do your best.
    Thank you for the meal!
