I’d give it a 4.5 if I could. When that being said, I’m not sure why the low rating. The space is nice and open and it has quite a bit of seating. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but they got busy after I got there and they asked us if we would mind leaving so others could come in. Not a problem. The dim sum options were delicious, return the shu mai, shrimp dumpling, and special pork bun standouts for me. The pumpkin dessert dumpling was a nice way to end the meal. If you like dim sum, this place is worth a try.

As its signature dishes, the baked bbq pork buns (酥皮焗叉燒包)and steamed shrimp dumplings (har kao 蝦餃)are actually quite good. They are served while they are sizzling hot. However, I found its steamed pork dumplings (siu mai) very disappointing. The pork stuffing inside the dumplings is so chewy that I finally gave up and spit it out. And another major difference between its Japanese branches and its Hong Kong flagship restaurant of course is the price. The Japanese Tim Ho Wan is about one third more expensive than its Hong Kong counterpart. But if you don’t want the hassle of traveling all the way to Hong Kong, it’s worthy trying this Japanese shop.

Famous Hongkong dim sum restaurant that has Michelin single stars. The foods are flavored sweet and savory with soy sauce. It's not spicy since it’s a Hongkong cuisine. My top recommendation of this restaurant is “Glutinous Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf”. It's volume and rich smell is super gorgeous.
