Tokuju Review Summary

Meat quality was superb and very tender, but service is a bit lacking especially with respect to single person parties. I know larger groups tend to spend more, but dining solo seems to mean you can only catch server on the way to help those larger groups? Mixed feelings overall, and for the price paid would probably try somewhere else next time

We had a nice dinner here.

We ordered all kinds of meat which we grilled on the spot and enjoyed, together with vegetables, salad, garlic, soup, rice and a good bottle of sake.

It is rather expensive, expect to pay 5,000 Yen and above per person (at least).

The service is just okay and the ambience is uninteresting but this is clearly a matter of taste, there are many more graphic and picturesque places in Tokyo though if aesthetics is important to you.

Our dinner was completed with two very delicious creamy puddings.

Take the subway from anywhere in Tokyo direction SHIMBASHI STATION, exit at the shimbashi main square and walk less than 10 minutes to reach this restaurant.

SHIMBASHI is by default an interesting district to visit as it gathers most of the salary men in Tokyo flocking the area for an after-work drink and a bite.

The drawback is that this is a male dominated area with a 90/10 ratio male/female, just so that you have a better picture.
