The best sushi we ate in Japan (went twice). The restaurant is run by a lovely older couple and they were very attentive and polite. We tried a range of sushi (including veg options) and the fried chicken and all tasted incredibly fresh.
The sushi was served incredibly fast (within 5 minutes), and the ginger served alongside was incredible.
Highly recommended, don’t miss this spot if in Kyoto.

Even if I were to nitpick, I just simply could not find a flaw to pick on! The sashimi and sake really blew me away!! The cute old Japanese couple made me felt really welcomed and their interaction is really warm. I have tried a few sushi places in Tokyo with cut throat prices and mediocre sushi. This is by far the best place to come if you’re into local sashimi and sake

This is an absolute gem in the neighborhood. The quality of the fish and superb atmosphere was super delicate and typical. The chef who also appears to be the chef of the restaurant, was super friendly and even gave us some extra sushi rolls. Super recommended!!

Authentic sushi place run by cute couple. They are very kind and welcoming. We had no reservation, they welcomed us as walk-in. High food quality. I got the eel, the fatty tuna and the mackerel, everything was delicious. We were the only foreigners. Highly recommended

Authentic Japanese sushi with more locals than tourists while we are having dinner tonight. Do not speak much English and provide us an English menu. Tight seating. All manual - manual order and bill. Good sushi, good sashimi, good deep fried squid and good hot sake. The only food not as good is the fried chicken karaage. Less than 20 seatings in total.
