The best Aji-fry and Nodoguro- shioyaki ever.
But all other dishes are amazing and the owner (both the 大将 and 女将) are very professional and friendly.
The cozy counter seat made everything even better.

Everything is fresh and made with care. If you want to experience a traditional Hiroshima-favored Japanese food, don't miss it here. Aji-fry is the best I had in Japan.

The owner is a second generation chef. His father was one of the most famous chefs in Hiroshima. He and his lovely wife have managed this restaurant for 19 years (in 2023) after his father retired. The cooking herw is basic and subtle, but what he does is magic.

No English menu. I had medium mixed sashimi, grilled fish, Aji-fry, ochazuke, and 2 orders of sake that came to 13,000 yen. But I think I ate for close to 2 people (well, I was very hungry!!).

But one can just order more simply - order 2 dishes - sashimi, grilled, fried, or stewed and let him decide the fish. He will only serve fish that is not only fresh but also accepts his standard.

They are very lovely couple - wish more like them remain in the world.

First visit as a couple. The husband is a very desirable type of craftsman. The wife acts as a commentator. We are breathing together. When I saw the appetizer, I was convinced that I had made the right choice in choosing this restaurant. The fish liver and other ingredients caught that day are made into a vinegared dish. Furthermore, the octopus with the sashimi platter is amazing. It has been briefly blanched and contains a knife. The way the taste spreads when you put it in your mouth! It's my first time eating something like this. The raw chili filefish is also delicious. We started with beer, but of course we immediately ordered some local Hiroshima sake. And salted oysters. green. I think it's the cotton part, but when you eat it, you can smell the flavor of seaweed. I was also blown away by the fried horse mackerel. Despite the size, the fluffy and fluffy flavor is amazing. I want to go again.
