Tonkatsu Kenshin Review Summary

Intimate atmosphere. Hard working people that offer great food and service. The most unique and enjoyable pork tonkatsu I've had so far. I want to go back and try the more premium cut of pork. A great reason to come back and visit Tokyo again.

GO HERE! this was our best food experience in Tokyo so far. We got the pork and ribeye and both were amazing. The ribeye doesn’t need any sauces as it’s perfect the way it is. The pork was amazing too. Try with salt and sauces. The miso soup was best we’ve had anywhere.

We made a reservation for my wife and me and came with our two toddlers and a baby. Having tried many famous Tonkatsu in Japan, we tried the HITACHINO-KAGAYAKI pork. this was absolutely the best pork we've ever had. The owner was so kind to offer us free food for our kids. Highly recommended for everything even with families.

My wife prefers this place over Tonkatsu Marugo. I think they are on par, but Tonkatsu Kenshin doesn't have as much waiting yet. However, Kenshin's soup is definitely better, and the restaurant is more spacious inside. Atmosphere is more modern, and this might be a turnoff for some foreigners who wants more traditional experience.

Went there for lunch. The quality of the dish was amazing. And the service top notch.
