Good overall experience.

I ordered the Fish Ayu Chazuke, and while I'm not sure about the exact type of fish, it was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional, and the staff made me feel very welcome. This restaurant is the perfect place to unwind and refuel after a long day of exploring Kifune area. The only thing to note is that they accept cash only, but the reasonable prices make me wanna come back again.

Primarily writing this review to offset old reviews from years ago. I am a foreigner with rudimentary Japanese, and was welcomed graciously. They also served a table of other customers who spoke next to no Japanese, and had an English menu. Particularly compared to many of the restaurants who flat out refuse foreigners, they were quite welcoming.

I had the unagi soba and it was very good, among the best soba I’ve ever had.

Cozy little restaurant next to Kibune jinja. Staff was friendly and even though they didn’t speak English they made an effort and served us with the same politeness as Japanese guests. Prices for lunch are very (very!) reasonable, considering the quality of the food and everything was freshly made and delicious. The atmosphere was good and I felt relaxed while eating and listening to the sound of the river.
