Famous for the mooncakes but they also have wagashi and other seasonal sweets. A taste of history at a very reasonable price.

Absolutely delicious traditional Japanese sweets. I would definitely go back for the warabimochi. The owners (an elderly couple) don't speak English, but you can point at the sweets you want. Do note that if there are customers sitting on the one bench in the store, they are waiting for their orders to be made/packed, and you cannot order until they have been served. Please be polite and wait patiently. Thanks!

Generation after generation this shop serves locals of Kyoto traditional sweets. The owner / patissier will even create a sample plate of the items you chose to eat in the shop, or as most do -- you can choose take-away.
