Fantastic food, would recommend trying a few dishes and prices are very reasonable.

I had the cold shrimp, radish and lettuce spring rolls were amazing. Then followed by deep fried burdock with a stick glaze and deep fried octopus (was a little chewy, but ok).
And for the grand finale, cold, fairly rare Kobe beef with raw onion and carrot.
The beef was AMAZING!

The waiters and waitresses were very patient and hospitable and they had an English menu with pictures.

+ a medium Asahi, it all came to just over 2,700¥

An absolute treasure of a restaurant. A more authentic Japanese experience will be hard to find. Art, history, creativity, culture, and incredible tastes. If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation you are in for a treat.

Reserved lunch through hotel at Tsukumo. I think it's quite enjoyable and the staff can speak English better than staff in some restaurants in Osaka and Kyoto. For the price tag it's quite worth it. The service is pretty good and the dining environment is not too serious.
