Udagawa Review Summary

A set with veg salad, miso cockle soup, rice, and six fried large juicy oysters in batter is one of a few happiest lunches under 2000 Japanese yen per person in town. Every oyster is well chosen, which ensures a hearty, satisfying bite.

Service with a bad attitude.

Owner and the lady that works with him had a bad attitude and didn't seem to want us to be there. He was pushing up us to order a more expensive set menu that what we wanted. At first they said they didn't have what we wanted... then they said they did. We ordered and then got over charged by 200 yen. 200 yen is very little but the issue is the principal of wanting to rip us off. We will not return.

The food was decent but nothing spectacular that would make this place unique. Plenty of other places around the area that can offer better service and without an attitude so go elsewhere.

Jun 2023: got to know this place from a Japanese YouTube post. Very juicy Tonkatsu and love the sauce that soaks into the milk bread. Perfect proportion of meat to veg as well.

Really bad!
The cook told me that it was closed at 13:15 on a Friday, there was a family eating there and I think it was because I’m Gaijin.
Really disappointed.
