Udon Oniyanma Shimbashi Review Summary

Best udon in Shimbashi area for sure! I recommend the 3 types tempura. Superb national taste and very reasonable price. However you should aware they don't provide seats and spoons.

Noodles are only about 500¥, but at a great expense… The place is absolutely filthy inside. The water dispenser had what looked like years of dust caked to it. Walls and kitchen were covered in so many stains you wouldn’t be able to tell the original colour. Tables were not clean and very sticky. You eat standing, which is fine.

Thankfully food comes the instant you walk in the door after ordering on a machine outside so you don’t have to spend more than 5 minutes in here. Food was just fine, and medium portion was sufficient.

Udon noodles are pulled In-house. It has a nice stretchy n bouncy texture. Tempura style topping r crunchy providing a nice contrasting texture to the noodles. Order your udon from a vending machine outside the shop. Walk in the entrance only doorway. In about 10 steps, there is a window on ur right. Stop here. Get a tray n a cup of water yourself. You udon will arrive shortly. When ur order is on ur tray, carry the tray n find a standing table n enjoy. Please refrain from talking when eating. Please observe n follow the locals to see how they clean up after themselves when finished.

Quick, tasty, cheap, no nonsense! Great for a quick tasty bite, everyone is very in-and-out. Standing only. Worth it

In and out in 15 minutes, it was a perfect late night soup for after a massage. I enjoyed this udon which is not a heavy ramen.

The noodle’s texture was bouncy and soft. The egg was super gooey perfection too! Unlimited tempura flakes at the table to carb up the soup too!
