At the end of my Japan trip, I was already tired of trying a new Japanese sweet everyday just to find out red bean paste at the end of every bite. Yet, this Dorayaki from Usagiya was surprisingly good and very mildly sweet. The outer pancakes were neither moist nor dry and sufficiently fluffy.
Usagiya is highly sought after and you need to reserve your order at least a day before. However, this means there will never be a time when you will get hot and freshly made Dorayaki like so many other places, instead, you get your order gift packed like a souvenir.

Their expiration time is next day !!!
They don’t use any preservatives. If, like me, you intend to buy a bunch to bring to your family oversees, be careful: they will not survive the flight. I discovered that after buying a whole lot.
However, they are really, really, delicious (saying that while pushing the 8th one into my throat and packing for the flight back) 😅.

Bought their Red Bean Dorayaki(220yen).
When I first touched it, the pancake’s smoothness made me happy.
Then I took a bite and indeed it was soft, and tasted fresh too. Red bean was also quite smooth and not overly sweet.
Definitely recommend to anyone that want to try excellent dorayaki.
*Note that it can only keep for 48hrs.
