Wagyu & Okonomiyaki Teppanyaki Ten Ginza8 Review Summary

Would've rated 6 stars if I could. Every course that came out was MIND BLOWING. My wife and I have been in Japan for 17 days now and nothing seemed to have delighted our taste buds.

I randomly chose this place to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and I'm so glad I did. Seamlessly booked through Google and got the reservation.

Had the lobster and abalone course at 90k and 75k yen respectively. Not too pricey!

When the salad came out, it didn't look appetizing. But when we sank our teeths in, the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, the roe and crab meat was bursting full of seafood flavour, and that little lotus root thing was really amazing. I don't want to go into details about the other courses, but just trust me when I say that everything here is phenomenal.

The staff were all young, jovial, and energetic too! They were extremely attentive and also knew how to kept the audience engaged (those seated in front of the grill).

10/10 would recommend this place to anybody.

We had 8 person dining in and ordering the 13000 yen set. The quality of food is really mid for this price. The octopus pancake was not well cook and there was hardly any octopus in the pancake, the fried rice was so bad that part of it was salty and part of it was tasteless, it was not stir fried properly The time interval between the dishes served was taking forever and we have to constantly remind the waitress to bring our food .
It is one of the worst Teppanyaki I have had in my life. I think the quality of food should be review by the restaurant.

We are very disappointed, especially since we made our booking a week in advance based on a recommendation from a friend. The dining experience, for which we spent over 130,000 yen, was far below expectations and not up to standard. Despite our request to be seated close to the chef, we were placed far from the action, which diminished the experience.

Overall, the experience was not worth the time, effort, or cost. Some dishes felt cheap in quality, and others were undercooked. We even mentioned this to the waitress, but it didn’t seem to make a difference.

I struggled a lot with this review. On one hand, the staff is very friendly, good a English and exceptionally energetic. The ingredients are all high quality. The crab salad as a starter was quite good. They put on a good show as well.

On the other, my steak was overcooked, and the consistency in their cooking does not seem to be very good, which is a shame since they do use such high quality ingredients.

I also have to mention their killing of their lobsters. They have a tank of live lobsters. Instead of killing them with a knife to the head, they put them on the hotpan alive. They suffer quite gruesomely for several minutes. The flavour would be exactly the same if they just instantly killed them before putting them on the stove.

Then there is the matter of the bill. I'm not sure why, but my bill was 3500 yen more than what the menu stated, and it's not just because the menu might have been without tax.

So while the place definitely have some positive things, I have to give it a low rating for the negative points. I think if they have the potential to fix those points, because the staff does seem motivated, yet too unprofessional.

I'd recommend to go someplace else. You can get far better tappenyaki elsewhere for the same price or even cheaper.

The price performance of the restaurant is very good. You get to eat a variety of seafood and meat. Most importantly, the food quality is excellent and the chefs were very attentive and fun. They made the entire experience very enjoyable. I would definitely return
