Yakiniku Beef Tongue Lemon Shinjuku Review Summary

I came here after seeing great reviews, and it did not disappoint! The beef was perfectly cooked to a medium rare with an amazing texture—juicy and packed with flavor. The sides were well-balanced and complemented the meal beautifully. Don’t miss the homemade lemon cider—it’s incredibly refreshing! Reservations are highly recommended.

Beef Tongues are good but when you keep eating you will feel it’s a little bit too oily. Still it’s good, but not extraordinarily good. Staff are funny and can speak English. The atmosphere is good. Probably suggest to reserve a table beforehand, for now the hit is gone a little bit so even if you don’t have a table before you don’t need to wait for too long.

A very very nice restaurant underground, and it makes it shady and mysterious. Once inside the restaurant looks cozy, packed and full of people with chefs cooking in the middle of the counter. Besides that, the beef tongue is superb, it is medium rare and easy to chew. Besides that, the wagyu beef is also well cooked in medium rare. Highly recommend to order the ikura rice add on if you like ikura, it adds to the flavour! The soup is very nice to drink with the spring onions and it goes well with the beef tongue as it can clean your palate. I also recommend to order the lemon cider with alcohol, please do not order it without alcohol! Lastly, the staff is also very friendly and attentive! Please reserve because the queue is often very long, thank god I can cut the queue due to early reservation!

We ordered 2 kind of set lunch, all served as room temperature……. , the taste was ok but without the soul that food should have…….., all made by so call factory style……., if you are a teenagers, you may like it as you can share the photos with your friends to get a lot of likes……., if you are a foodie, you can find a lot of better choices compare with the prices in Tokyo !

Glad I made a reservation in advance as arrived to a long queue all the way up the stairs from the restaurant, and got to say the restaurant is definitely on the cosier side with an open kitchen.

Ordered the famous beef tongue set which arrived with curry, rice, salad and miso soup. The beef tongue is grilled to perfection with slight redness in the centre and very juicy. It was served with some sauces and half a lemon which I can squeeze over the meat. The curry is slightly on the spicy side but perfect to go with the rice. Every diner will get a glass of iced green tea but the homemade lemon squash is also very refreshing and a good addition to the meal!
